“What an amazing gift of a day spent in the mountains with horses, nature & lovely people.
We had an amazing adventure, travelled 24 km return on a horse. Stopped at hot springs, road a horse through a creek, saw mountain goats, a bear and experienced the beautiful nature of the Kootenay’s! I had a feisty horse, that challenged me into learning more about riding. My highlights included their pack mule named “Bucky or Buckaroo” who weirdly reminded me of our dog Kona, with his red pack, his slow but steady manner, and calm attitude!! Second highlight was spending the day with my daughter, who did not stop smiling, as she ventured off with her horse in the mountains! The day was truly a gift!
Maarsii Off Grid Adventures, you were amazing!!! I would highly recommend this adventure in the Kootenay’s! They were kind, considerate, educational, patient and taught me a lot about riding horses, and the energy that you put out and how that can be interpreted and given back to you!!

“Just got back from an unforgettable horse pack trip to Dewar Creek Hot Springs with my besties! 3-year-old Farrin mule had her first big adventure and was a total rockstar! 
We enjoyed bagged wine, soaked in the springs, and cozied up in cabins, surviving the wild ride with just a few bumps and bruises. Huge thanks to Katie and Ryan from Off Grid Adventures for the hospitality, Katie’s mom for all the meals and Ayla for her extra treks up the steep hill to keep the temperatures in check. mer. As an advanced rider and my husband who has been on a horse just a handful of times we both enjoyed the day. As an animal lover I appreciated knowing the horses are well cared for and loved. We were told to bring bug spray which we used but barely needed. For a full day on horseback, the price is very reasonable!
I look forward to doing the trip again with my mom who is from Vancouver, as this is an experience anyone would enjoy. Thank you for the amazing memories Katie and we look forward to more rides in the future.

Meals were super not to mention the excellent hands on training with hobbling, packing a horse 101, ties, knots, high lines, you name it! We went as forest timers and thrilled about the knowledge and experience this trip gave us; we’re much more prepared should we venture out on our own in the future.. Worth the trip!”

“When we first arrived at the cabins we were greeted by Katie and introduced to all the horses. They had already matched us up with who we would be riding. The scenery was beautiful! Riding into the hot springs felt so magical. Fields of wildflowers, beautiful waterfalls, and snow topped mountains. The horses were solid, crossing rivers, and navigating hills with confidence. When we arrived at the hot springs there were baby mountain goats hanging out as we took a dip. Our provided lunch was delicious. On the way home we spotted a black bear from our truck”

“This last August myself, daughter and father spent 2 nights with Off Grid Adventures. We did the full day horse ride into the hot springs and it will be a trip we will never forget. Our ride consisted of thunder, rain, river crossings, a quick warm up and lunch by a fire in a remote cabin and a final destination of one of the most beautiful valley’s I’ve ever seen. This is a perfect trip for anyone looking for an adventure. I couldn’t recommend these guys enough!”
